AUTO PEDIGREE TAKES AA AUTOBAY AS BRIDE

In a recent transaction Auto Pedigree, the country’s largest independent dealer in secondhand vehicles and part of the Imperial Group, acquired the license to AA Autobay – the progressive web-based facilitator of private-to-private sales. AA Autobay was acquired from the Automobile Association of South Africa (AA).

“Whilst the two brands will operate independently, significant benefits are to be had in leveraging the two party’s infrastructures to the benefit of one another,” said Kobus Davidtz, CEO of Auto Pedigree.

Over a period of time, all of the more than 65 Auto Pedigree branches countrywide will feature an AA Autobay private-to-private sales facility, making the service available to customers countrywide. “This process is already well under way all across the country,” said Davidtz.

AA Autobay facilitates the entire sales process between a private seller and buyer in a secure and safe environment, including free listing of the vehicle, finance and insurance, with payment guaranteed.

“The particular services that AA Autobay brings to the party are in line with Auto Pedigree’s strategic objectives of capturing a significant share of the fast growing private-to-private and web trading portions of the secondhand vehicle market,” Davidtz concluded.

Auto Pedigree was formed back in 1981 and has since grown into the largest second hand car dealer network in the country, offering more than 3 000 vehicles.

TWO SPECIALISED GAUTENG DEALERS READY FOR GODZILLA

Nissan South Africa’s Nissan High Performance Centres (NHPC) have all but geared up for the arrival of Godzilla in the country. The two franchises, Melrose Nissan (Johannesburg) and Global GT-R (Hatfield, Pretoria) will be fully equipped to handle pretty much any query pertaining to the R1.175 million GT-R.

The GT-R is a highly specialised machine and as such requires highly specialised people and equipment to sell, service and maintain,” says Wilhelm Baard of Global GT-R. “The car may have a price tag similar to high-end coupes but its performance and capabilities are on the same (and in most cases higher) level than the best super cars. Whilst it is a super car for anyone, anywhere at any time, it still requires the very best level of service and maintenance to ensure continued satisfaction and performance – this in turn will also ensure that residual values are kept at the highest level possible.”

In addition to being driver-adjustable electronically, the advanced suspension system is further -tweakable to suit specific customer requirements. The NHPCs can tailor the car’s wheel alignment settings to a more track-biased setting, a fast-road oriented package, or a mostly-city dynamic setting which affects every element of the cars on-road performance but requires intimate knowledge of the unique and complex components and absolute precision measurement.

This fun video personifies the prowl for Wi-Fi. You could pay the password-pimp for a fast connection, but what about that loose hotspot? Jumping on free Wi-Fi is easy, but only while it lasts, and you gotta watch for viruses:
