MAHINDRA GIVES SCORPIO RENEWED STING
FORD RACING HOLDS COLLECTIVE BREATH OVER TITLE
“This was an extremely important weekend for us,” explained Formato. “Heading to Cape Town I was one point adrift of championship leader Graeme Nathan, we are now leaving Killarney one point in the lead with only one round remaining. There’s nothing in it at the moment, which means there’s absolutely no room for error.”
Formato and Duminy put in a fighting performance, in the Nando’s sponsored Ford Focus STs, from the middle of the pack. Formato put in a determined show in the first heat to take the final podium slot while Duminy followed in hot pursuit crossing the line in fourth place. Formato made his intentions clear setting the fastest lap of the race.
With the championship as close as ever the Ford crew were more determined than ever to take maximum points. Formato did just that, taking the second heat victory ahead of teammate Duminy – a dream result for the team.
“We showed steady progress throughout the weekend, the whole team has put in a lot of hard work throughout the season and this was just the result we needed,” added Formato.
Duminy was also rewarded for his efforts by being named the Rooky of the Day. “All in all it was a great weekend for the whole team. Both cars were quick and competitive in both the day’s heats and we now leave Cape Town with the upper hand,” said Duminy.
The final round of the 2009 championship takes place at the Kyalami Grand Prix circuit in Midrand on 17 October. With only one point separating Class T championship protagonists Formato and Nathan there are sure to be fireworks.
“There’s no room for complacency now. We have a lot of work to do ahead of the final event. It’s a home race for us and the perfect conclusion to what has been a nail biting battle throughout the season,” concludes Formato.

NEW RENAULT MEGANE HATCH BRINGS SEXY BACK
SPORTY RENAULT MEGANE COUPE SLIDES INTO SA
AUSSIES GAGA OVER SUZUKI GRAND VITARA
Considered the toughest 4x4 vehicle judges Down Under, the 4x4 experts from 4x4 Australia and Overlander 4WD magazines both recently honoured the Grand Vitara by naming it Australia’s best compact SUV – for the second year running.
The Grand Vitara took the best compact SUV honours despite a highly competitive field of contenders, including the VW Tiguan, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson, Nissan X-Trail, Jeep Wrangler, Subaru Forester, and Honda CR-V.
Key attributes of the Grand Vitara singled out by the judges included the low-range transfer case, rugged ladder-frame chassis and all-independent suspension, which allowed the Suzuki to traverse a 4x4 test route few other compact SUVs were able to complete.
The evaluation teams also praised the Grand Vitara for its comfortable seating, precise steering and value-added pricing.
While the award went to the diesel-powered Grand Vitara DDiS – a derivative not offered in South Africa –Overland 4WD magazine team also acknowledged the excellence of the petrol models, identifying both the 2.4 four-cylinder and the 3.2-litre V6 as the diesel’s closest rivals.
The Australian success of the Grand Vitara is mirrored by the local reaction to Suzuki’s compact SUV. The vehicle has received high praise since being launched in SA in September last year, and demand remains strong, despite the economic downturn.
The locally available Grand Vitara range is offered with a choice of two petrol engines: a 2.4-litre four-cylinder, and the flagship 3.2-litre V6. The 2.4 model can be ordered with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic gearbox, while the V6 range-topper is only offered with an auto transmission.
High specification levels, comprehensive safety features and class-leading all-terrain capability are further hallmarks of the Grand Vitara line-up.
The Grand Vitara range is offered with a comprehensive warranty and service plan, and is available through Suzuki’s growing national dealer network, which currently consists of 23 outlets.

Sony A-Series Walkmans
The pretty player has a 2.8-inch OLED screen (240x400), FM radio, TV-out, noise canceling, and is beautifully thin at 7.2mm. Oh, and it only weighs 2.2 ounces. But unlike the failed X-Series, the A has no touch screen or Wi-Fi.
Along with standard codec support, there's also new drag and drop feature that auto-transcodes video from your computer. And in Japan at least, the player comes with premium MDR-EX300SL earphones. Battery life is listed as 29 hours for music, and 9 hours for video.
Summer in Tokyo
I love this video arranged and with original music by Joan Jiménez showing images from last summer in Tokyo.
Reality is the contrast between what we have inside and what exists outside. I invite you to a shared trip to Tokyo where I put eyes and music and you all put the sensations…

Electric motorbike prototype
The electric motorbike prototype in the video is able to reach 150 km/h, while the battery charging time is only 6 hours and has autonomy of 200 km. It will cost around 3.000 euros and will be released to the Japanese market next year.
The motorbike design reminds me of the motorbikes in the movie Akira.
