2009 C63 AMG

The C63 AMG comes with an aggressive body kit, a sporty interior, coupled with large performance tires and wheels, suspension and chassis improvement. According to Mercedes, the acceleration to 62 mph takes approximately 4.5 seconds. Though it is at the bottom of the Mercedes-Benz's sedan line, it has a comfortable cabin.

At a maximum torque of 443 pound-feet which comes at 5000 rpm, this car has a powerful acceleration in its engine speed range. The AMG sport suspension and all new three link front axle design coupled with a 35 mm wider track including a stability program which allows the rear wheels to slip out a little during cornering gives the C63 outstanding handling, ensuring excellent road grip and low body movement when negotiating sharp corners at high speed. Deceleration is taken care of with 360 by 36 mm discs with 6 pistons fixed callipers on the front and 330 by 26 mm disc with four pistons fixed callipers on the rear. Vents were not present on the standard C-class is noticeable on the fascia to cool the brakes.

The new AMG C63 comes with a new 7 speed AMG automatic transmission with paddle shift which enables the driver to select 3 different driving mode; "S" (Sport) where the grear shift are 30% faster than in "C" and around 50% faster compared to "M" mode. "M" (Manual) allows the driver to have full control over the gear shift either using the shifter or the padles while "C" (Comfort) for full automatic gear shift.

The floating needle on the speedometer allows space for displaying trip, audio and other information. The LCD panel on the dashboard pops up upon turning on the car on board gadgets such as navigation, stereo as well as phone can be controller via the instrument panel. Among the usage of the LCD are for display of GPS maps, control of Sirius satellite radio (which comes with Harmon Kardon stereo system which uses 12 speakers aroung the cabin and a 320 Watts 8 channel amp) as well as for the Bluetooth phone usage. Also, since the navigation system in the car is using hard drive, it allows more storage. This hard drive also doubles as music storage where CD can be rip into the system. Alternatively, if you are a big fan of iPod, this car includes an iPod integration which can control the music using the steering wheel button and speedometer to display the information.
