OCTOBER PRODUCTION DATE FOR AUDI A1

Autoblog.nl reports that the Audi A1 will start production in October at the Audi factory in Brussels, Belgium. The A1 will be the smallest car in Audi’s lineup, coming below the A3 range and competing with vehicles like the Alfa Romeo MiTo and the MINI.

Audi will go all out with the A1 in that it will first sell a hatchback version, then a cabriolet and then a sportback version (the latter two not necessarily in that order). New engines will be featured which are both powerful and offer low C02 emissions. I reckon the 1.4-litre TSI from VW will be a good candidate for the A1 as well as 1.6-litre and TDIs.
